The present study aimed to analyze the role of sports champions as sports icons in promoting ethics within society. The research employed a qualitative method based on content analysis. The statistical population included elite athletes, prominent sports coaches and experts, sports managers, and faculty members in sociology, psychology, and sports management disciplines. Data collection was conducted through interviews, and purposeful sampling continued until theoretical saturation was reached. Validity was ensured through interviews with knowledgeable experts in the field, and the research process was reviewed by two university professors. Reliability was calculated using intra-subject agreement, yielding an acceptable rate of 83%. The findings identified the roles of sports champions as social and ethical responsibility, promoting culture and social identity, fostering a healthy and sustainable lifestyle, and serving as media and educational influencers in guiding behaviors. The role of sports champions as ethical and cultural icons transcends their athletic victories and achievements. By leveraging their societal status, these individuals can strengthen moral and social values and contribute to fostering positive behaviors in society. It is recommended that sports institutions and media collaborate with sports champions to introduce appropriate behavioral models to society through educational and media programs. Additionally, organizing social campaigns and philanthropic projects with the participation of sports champions can significantly enhance social cohesion and ethical behavior.
