Designing an Appropriate Model for Identifying the Competencies of Managers of Higher Education Institutions (Case Study of Public Universities)

Abstract

 The purpose of this study was to provide a model of competencies of managers of Iranian public universities under the auspices of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology.  To identify the dimensions and components of managers، competence، the Delphi method was used (qualitative method) and for the validity and reliability of the model, the survey method was used (quantitative method).  In the qualitative stage of the statistical population of the study, there were professors and experts who selected 40 people based on the non-probabilistic judgment sampling method, of which only 34 questionnaires were collected, but in the quantitative stage of 14 public universities, 247 questionnaires were collected and analyzed.  Were analyzed.  Questionnaires and second-hand data were used to collect data.  For data analysis, structural equation modeling was performed with LISREL software.  General competencies include executive, innovation and perceptual dimensions. Among these, executive competencies are emphasized more, as well as all indicators.  The relevant competencies and dimensions have been approved and the tested research model has been approved.  Meanwhile, the individual profile of management in the university after university management training, despite confirming its importance, has less impact than other indicators in the model.
